Didn’t We Do this Last Year? by Arthur J.L. Salvas

Third place honours in the poetry category, Mensa Canada 2017 Literary Contest

There is sometimes nothing worse
Than a forgotten anniversary.
It’s not too late so don’t worry –
Just hurry!

So for the one whom you adore
Rush out to your local florist.
You’ll be hugged and you’ll be kissed –
Think tryst!

If rose petals you might strew,
Of course resistance will be futile.
She may love your flair and style –
So smile!
